Keep calm and sparkle

There’s not much to add to this post but a bunch of glittery images to cheer you up and to remind you that we all need some sparkle in our lives every once in a while. So I’m embracing the famous (slightly altered) Keep calm slogan and am wishing you a lovely week!

Christmas mania

Or should I say Christmania? I have to confess, although last week I said why hurry to winter holidays, this week I’m quite hooked on everything Christmas related. This was always my weakness – baubles, glittery decoration, the tree, the presents – all this magic puts me on a very festive mode (which I’m in these days). I keep seeing how people decorate this year their Christmas tree and guess what, looks to me the main colors are pretty much the same like last year’s palette – mint, teal, silver (check my last year’s post here), although the glamorous golden doesn’t look bad either.

Here are some images from Emily Henderson‘s holiday guide (LOVE it, by the way!):

Bright and light

Hello, loves! It’s Friday, can you believe it? This sure was a tough week all around, so I’m glad I’ll get some time to properly breath the upcoming two days. Although I do have some plans, I’ll allow myself to sleep in, be lazy, read a few chapters of the book I started months   ago without getting the chance to finish it, watch a movie, drink tea and many more things like that, because you know – life is all about small details that make us happy.

What are you doing this weekend?

Fall al-fresco dining

With the cold days upon us the only thing I want to do is cuddle up under a blanket; going out is the last on that list (unless is not raining and the air is crispy). But lately I find myself daydreaming about dining al-fresco, surrounded by all the gorgeous fall colors and scents, by a fire with a dear group of people. Oh and some delicious food is involved in my daydreaming – the thought itself makes me hungry :).

By the way, this post is a great inspiration for a Thanksgiving table setting – what are you up to this year? Staying indoors or going al-fresco?

Blog love: A creative mint

If you still didn’t hear about Leslie Shewring then you must be living on another Planet. Leslie is the famous color columnist on decor8 whose posts we breathlessly await every month, Leslie is an amazing artist and photographer, Leslie is the creative person behind this visual delight – A Creative Mint (which is a gem of a blog, by the way!). There is really no need to explain who is Leslie, right? She’s THE blogger we must know and look up to :). One thing I love about her blog is how well categorized are her posts, it’s so easy to browse when you have them organized by colors! Here are some of the too many pictures I wanted to share with you:

Decorate with Juju hats

Ever wanted to have a touch of extravaganza in your home? Perhaps a Mexican kilt to spice up your bedroom? Or an Arabian pillow or two, that will change your living room to core transforming it into a tale? Then a Juju hat is exactly what you need! I know this sounds very commercially, but believe me I’m just trying to suggest a way to freshen up your home without spending a fortune. A juju hat will make your living space look different, unique and not last, so much fun (if you have it in a bright, cheery color). Here are a few examples:

Orla Kiely – pattern crush

Who doesn’t love Orla Kiely and all those yummy patterns and colors? I sure do and have myself dreaming about those cushions and notebooks and even clothing (which is so vintage chic!). I highlighted a few favorite items, just in time for my Christmas wishlist. By the way, have you noticed how more and more Christmas-y posts are popping up? Well, that makes me think – isn’t that too early? I mean, there’s Thanksgiving ahead – do we really want to skip one month so we can be in December and celebrate winter holidays already? What do you think?

Mustard

Mustard is having its comeback this season and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I blogged about this color last year and my obsession with it didn’t fade remaining one of the most fall-friendly color crushes. The richness and heaviness of mustard make it a gorgeous alternative to traditional fall colors, a perfect compromise between yellow and brown and a warm stylish hue on its own. Mustard for him, for her and their home – what’s not to love?
