TGIF! We made it, let’s get some applause, shall we? For a Friday post I chose a topic that I believe we’ll see a lot this year and this is brass. I’ve heard many predictions for brass and they all conclude that 2011 will be full of it. The reason I can think of is its timelessness and its always stunning look in a room. Brass items that have on them time’s stamp (also known as vintage) never looked better than when seen in a modern home, with eclectic touches. Its subtle glitz always brings a feeling of glamour to a space, so I believe brass would work perfectly in ANY home, no matter the style. Of course, it’s all about your personality, that’s why I ask you – do you love or hate brass?
I especially have a crush on vintage brass bar carts, I simply can’t get enough of them! Joanna has in her apartment a gem of a cart that has me gasping every time I see it (see above picture)!
So, love it or leave it? Let’s hear your opinions!

I started loving brass in 2009 when I was putting together my master bedroom! I recently wrote a post where I refinished a dresser and used some beautiful brass pulls and hung a brass mirror above it!
I used the phrase “Brass is back, not whack”! Great post!
I have an obsession with brass too :) I buy select pieces when I find it.
beautiful!:)
I’m new to reading your blog but I am loving brass! We just moved into a house w/ some circa 80s brass that is bad, but there is also some great patinad brass (pulls/handles etc) that I love and want to keep. I think it can really look fresh!
