Hair care
Long, shiny and the most important healthy hair…Who doesn’t dream about this? But going from dreams to reality, living in a megalopolis, having a job to do, children to raise, makes quite difficult to achieve it. I’ll try to help you with this.
How to treat oily hair
Oily hair didn’t make anyone look good or be happy and if you have oily hair, you probably need to wash it daily to prevent the greasy or stringy look. This is even harder if you are in lack of time, so here are the things you need to forget about oily hair: a box of cornstarch and a large, clean blush brush. Pour some cornstarch out onto a dish and dip the brush into it. Then, with a comb, part your hair in the center and brush the cornstarch onto your scalp and roots. Make another 1/4 part , put it to off-center and repeat. Continue this method down one side of your head, then from the center and down the other side. Go about your business for about 10 minutes while the cornstarch soaks up the excess oils in your hair. Then, take a brush and brush out your hair, ridding it of the cornstarch flakes.
Hints that will protect your hair from being oily:
- Use a mild shampoo, shampoo for oily hair, shampoo for dry scalp, or a baby shampoo
- Always rinse your hair thoroughly with cool or lukewarm water, because soap residue can make oily hair worse
- If hair is very oily, do not use conditioner at all, or use conditioner only on the tips or ends of the hair
- Oily hair is likely shiny enough, so avoid using hair gloss gel or shine hair care products on oily hair
- For extremely oily hair, a vinegar rinse, comprised of one (1) part vinegar to four (4) parts water can help remove oil from your hair, but be sure to avoid using vinegar on the scalp
- Don’t brush oily hair frequently, because brushing oily hair can actually cause the scalp to produce more oil
- Diluted lemon juice can provide similar results to the vinegar rinse for oily hair with a much more pleasant scent
Follow these instructions and enjoy your healthy hair!
