Rich emerald

Loving emerald, yet again! I can’t resist the temptation (nor I want to) to share with you some ’emerald’ finds of mine that I’m sure will inspire you. And by the way, I really think emerald is a stunning alternative to the traditional brown-golden-beige fall palette, along with teal (that I wrote about last week), but of course!

The two images below feel like the same room shot from different corners, no? The saturated emerald of the curtains are the perfect match for the armchair – to me this is one room! What do you think?

Color+Inspiration: Black, white and gold

Happy Monday to all! Today I have a special post for you, sort of. It’s about my favourite color combination at the moment: black, white and golden. These three shades are so elegant individually taken, so the effect they have when combined is like a bomb, a stylish one to be more precise. All in all, a bit of a glamorous and sophisticated trio, but nonetheless it provides us with a very cozy feeling, which is at the same time not too simplistic. Are you in for it?

Soft salmon

To make sure we understood each other – it’s the color salmon I’m speaking of in this post. Don’t you just love the peach-y, coral-y and absolutely sexy nuance? To me it screams freshness, summer breeze and a very not-your-average feminine color. I’d love to know how do you feel about this color, as I’m pretty sure it will be around for some time, next to coral (that I’m dying for – you know that, right?). If you ask me what’s the new black, I know what I’m going to answer!

Love affair with: PLUM color

Not sure what has gotten onto me these days, but I’m having a serious crush on plum color. Perhaps it’s because of its elegance and deep sexiness, one thing is clear – with a white background, a pop of plum looks gorgeous and very royal! I’m liking the idea of a Scandinavian inspired room where it’s all so clean and minimalist with a statement piece in a deep plum shade – sounds delicious, right?

Weekend inspiration

Happy weekend, darlings! This weekend I’m going to be inspired by bold hues and this picture is pretty much what I’m talking about: hot fuchsia, olive (and a hit of apple) green and red – looks to me like a very lovely combo, no?

Happy 4th of July to all my friends who celebrate (still remembering last year’s color inspiration post dedicated to this holiday – oldie, but goodie!). See you next week! xo

Monday mood: fairy dust

Hello, loves! Just thought I’d do a short post that will hopefully set the mood for the entire week. Because we love pink and because each of us needs some fairy dust every now and then:)

I hope your week starts off on the right side, smile and everything will look brighter! I’ll be back with another post a bit later. xo

Everyday fabulous {October 5th, 2010}

The image I came across today is STUNNING and I needed to share it with you! You guys will be amazed by the colors you’ll see and not because of an abundance of colors, but by a subtle yet contrasting combo of two shades. I’m speechless!

OMG! Normally I’d never think about combining these two colors, but the way they look here together is just fantastic, beyond words! I think the combo is BRILLIANT! P.S. This kitchen is pretty fabulous too, right (besides colors)? What do you think?

Color+Inspiration: Chocolate brown+White

Hi everyone! Chocolate brown is an absolute favorite of mine as you may recall, so I was wondering how will it look if paired with white? And the combo didn’t disappoint me at all! The brown, being an earthy, natural color calls for warmth and friendliness in a space, it’s inviting and makes the room be so peaceful. Unlike white, which is a crispy, neat and sort of a cold color and when combined with chocolate brown the result you get is a modern, light and stylish yet very inviting room. No surprise chocolate brown & white are used together for decorating bedrooms the most, but definitely they’re having the same effect in every other room and here are some proofs:

Color+Inspiration: Yellow+Gray

Hey everyone! I must admit that I’ve been having my eyes on the beautiful color combination yellow & gray for quite a long time and still, never put together a color inspiration post featuring this combo. Small intro: Anna of In honor of design asked our opinion about a new header for her blog (we needed to choose one of three designs), the first design was created with yellow & gray colors and I was smitten by the simplicity and elegance of it! The muted shades of both these colors are such a well balanced mix, perfectly completing each other and creating the feeling of aesthetic charm and sense of style. Of course I voted for the first design Anna had to choose from, but I couldn’t stop thinking about this combination. So yesterday I browsed all the possible sites on the Internet and I found some gorgeous rooms (and not only) decorated with yellow & gray:

Color+Inspiration: Peacock Blue

I’ve discovered my crush for peacock blue color not so long time ago…alright it happened yesterday! But my love affair with this color is pretty big which makes it up for the short time, isn’t it how’s this working? However it is, I love this intense shade of blue and I think it creates a ravishing effect when combined with colors like white, beige, cream and everything that’s light. This will make for a modern, refreshing look, but just in case you’d like to give a royal feeling to your space, then a peacock blue combined with black, brown and all these darker colors is what you might need. Some inspiring pictures:
