Design trend: Striped ceiling in a nursery

Is it only me or you also noticed that more and more designers and decorators when planning a nursery have a striped ceiling in there? I mean, I love stripes and I’ve proven it to you many times, but there’s just something I don’t get it: why striped ceiling in a nursery? Do babies feel happier when looking up and seeing stripes? Perhaps…If you have an idea why is this trend settling in, please share it with me, I’m VERY curious to know :)

Faux snakeskin

There has been a lot of buzz around animal prints and their use in homes lately. Nowadays cow and zebra hide rugs are a must in a modern, eclectic home. However, I’m pretty confused about how do I feel about this trend. I mean a faux cowhide rug is totally fine, but what about decorating with faux snakeskin? Stunning or hideous? I heard different opinions about it, but I leave it to you to decide is faux snakeskin in a home yay or nay?
