Sneak peek of Belgrade apartments

Happy Friday everyone! Hope your week went smoothly and that you’re ready for a R&R time (congratulations to my readers from Canada and USA for having an extra day off!). This week Elle Dekor Serbia (man, how I adore this magazine!) gave us a roundup of Belgrade apartments featured in the magazine at some point. A small confession: I put my hands on Elle Dekor not so long time ago, so that being said – I missed some issues from before. That is the reason I was very thrilled to see the mentioned pictures; seeing that there are talented and stylish people here wasn’t a surprise, but seeing the proof of the fact was something exciting! So I’d like to share with you now some pictures, so you can have an idea of how are apartments in Belgrade decorated (of course interiors vary due to owners’ styles and preferences, but still):

Jeff Andrews Design

You guys won’t believe what I just spotted! A REAL TREASURE! Seriously, the portfolio of interior designer Jeff Andrews is perfection and all the rooms he worked his magic on are to die for, if I say so myself! His fine aesthetic and modern concepts are creating spaces far above my ideas of a livable ambiance! When I grow up, I want to be like Jeff Andrews, but alas, talented artists like him isn’t something we see everyday. I’d just love to have him decorating my home, his famous name is trust-worthy and that has been proven by the numerous publications his work appeared in.

Note to self: Jeff Andrews designed Khloe Kardashian’s office, so he’s REALLY out of your price range! Who cares, a girl can dream, right? :)

Pattern love: Otomi

In continuation of the pattern adventure I’ve been living on creamylife, I bring you another design, all the way from Mexico, which is called Otomi pattern and it’s handmade by the Otomi Indians from Mexico. We all love it, but I know a few people who didn’t know the name of the pattern (including myself), so today I thought I can introduce Otomi pattern to everybody and say my two cents about it. Oh well, what other can I say except that it is a gorgeous embroidery, it’s handmade and will bring a slice of that Mexican charm into your home. These days Otomi is not only a fabric pattern, it’s also a gorgeous wallpaper which will dress up our space. Here are some examples of Otomi pattern:

Ana Kraš and Maison et Objet

Maison et Objet is an exhibition which will take place in Paris, in the period between September 3rd and 7th and it’s all about interior design! Aw, I can’t tell you how much I want to go! However, learning that a Serbian designer, Ana Kraš, will be there made me feel very proud (again) of the beautiful country I live in and of the VERY talented people who live here! Now a few things about Ana – she’s a young lady, with modern views on what’s called design, creating items which are of much use in one’s home! Seriously, many designers have weird creations (at least seems to me), unlike Ana’s work which is what reminds me of a home, with all the adjacent details meant to create a comfy space. Here are some of Ana’s work:

Stefan Thurmann Photography

Stefan Thurmann is a Hamburg-based photographer who takes some seriously wonderful pictures! Of course his work wouldn’t be the same without the brilliant stylists he’s working with, but nonetheless his eye catches the beauty of what he’s shooting, far beyond what we all see. In Stefan’s portfolio you’ll see calming, neutral rooms, with cozy blankets and wood all over, as well as some other shoots, more contrasting and stylishly edgy. His work was published in many magazines and without teasing you more, here are few pictures from Stefan’s portfolio which appealed to me the most!

Retro Interiors: Mad Men style

Hello, everyone! I know, Mad Men is most likely not new for you, but believe it or not, I just started watching it (living in Europe leads to this kind of consequences). I’m at first season and slowly catching up with all the episodes, hoping that one day I can proudly say that I’m in a row with everybody. And being a new fan of this series, I couldn’t avoid having my eyes on the fabulous cast (of course), their outfits, but most of all on the decoration seen in Mad Men. That 60′s feeling is taking my breath away, leaves me in awe and never ceases to inspire me! From both graphic and floral wallpapers to tufted pieces to earthy colors Mad Men has a special charm to it, something that will take you to that era and you’ll end up digging retro interiors like never before (that’s what happened to me). So now, please enjoy a few pictures of the Mad Men interiors:

P.S. Happened the second time to me when I got crazy about interiors seen in a movie or series: first was Julia’s kitchen (Julie & Julia) and now this. Just wondering what’s next :)

Trunks and suitcases

…not only they are a beautiful, stunning detail in a room, trunks and suitcases also might be of much help if used as side tables in bedroom or coffee table in living room. Not to mention the knocking off effect if looking at them as pieces of decor. You won’t be surprised if I say that I absolutely adore when the above mentioned trunks and suitcases are vintage looking, retro styled and showing off  the beauty of the time which left marks making them utterly charming and timeless. I’d give up all those modern, expensive tables for a priceless Louis Vuitton vintage suitcase that will inspire me every day, brightening up my life!

Home Tour: Designer Meredith Hutchison

Summer days are almost saying “adios” and now I can’t help myself but be sad that this wonderful season is coming to its end. I’ll definitely miss its airy and breezy colors and most of all I’ll miss the summer-inspired posts in blogland as I figure that everybody will focus on fall inspired interiors and colors. However, I’d like to slowly say “bye” to summer on creamylife with a home tour which is my dream home that’s taken life. Designer Meredith Hutchison re-designed her Cape Cod beach cottage, transforming it in a magical place, perfect for spending the summer with family, friends and refreshing drinks. I love her use of colors: white, navy and light blue paired with earthy browns is just amazingly light yet vibrant. The re-designed home has style, but it has a warm, home-y feeling and I’m just wondering when can I move in :).

Pattern love: Paisley

Hi people! Today was a busy yet productive day (if you joined me on Twitter or Facebook you know what I mean), so I’m on a slower wave right now, recovering after exciting moments. I’ve prepared the other day a pattern inspired post (remember my crush on them, right? ), so let’s talk paisley today, shall we? Its floral design whispers romance and femininity and the feeling I get when seeing it is all about charm and timeless chicness. Here are a few examples of paisley inspired spaces:

Hot like Mexico

Happy Friday, friends! With the hope that your week was amazingly productive, I’ll wrap it up with a HOT post and better saying with a hot Mexican inspired one. I got myself caught in all the bold colors so specific to a Mexican interior, in the ethnic patterns and passion which surrounds this VERY attractive style. And FYI, the colors which describe Mexican style are yellow, red and blue and although they’re all used in bright shades, the feeling created by this combo doesn’t seem less appealing or too dark – it’s the perfect balance of culture, beauty and country’s personality. And the first that came to my mind when preparing this post was the brilliant, talented Frida Kahlo and her oh-so-Latino look! Don’t you think she’s the best person to show off the wonderful Latino spirit?

So, with this colorful post I’m wishing you all a fantastic weekend! Enjoy it at its best!
