Christmas treats

We’re just two days away from this year’s Christmas weekend which got me thinking is the perfect time to plan some Christmas baking, don’t you think? I’m not the best person to give advice about that (I’d love to bake, but unfortunately I don’t have the time for that and who knows – maybe I don’t even have the necessary skills, ha!), but I still wanted to help you in some way that’s why I prepared a collection of inspirational pictures together with the recipes for the presented in this post cookies and treats! And no, Christmas isn’t all about peppermint and red/white/green icing, so be creative, put your kids to work – who else has better ideas than them? After all, holidays are all about spending time with the family.

Christmas and the reindeer

There’s a tight connection between these two – have you noticed? Of course you have, a reindeer has been the symbol of a Christmas for a very long time now. I must say, when I see a reindeer next to a Christmas tree I instantly feel so much joy and holiday cheer and I know it wouldn’t be the same without the reindeer part. So no matter the style you’re going with this Christmas, put there a cute reindeer (plastic, paper – it really isn’t important) and you’ll add to your holiday even more festive vibes!

Decorate for a Scandinavian Christmas

Since last year I also posted about a Scandinavian Christmas I thought I would make of it a tradition and bring a bit of Scandinavian in your life every year. This year is a bunch of pictures to inspire you to have your own Scandinavian inspired Christmas, no matter where you are. I know I’d LOVE this year the Scandinavian Christmas tree, which is so much different than trees you can see in the States or Europe: with few decorations, with twinkle lights, in a bucket – these are the main details a Scandinavian Christmas tree shows off. Oh and don’t forget about the (faux) fur – it’s quite an important part of a Scandi inspired home decor (and not only for Christmas), right?

Twinkle, twinkle

There’s no more relevant symbol of Christmas than the twinkle lights, right? They’re absolutely magical and breathtaking! On this Christmas-y note I wish you a wonderful Monday and a great week!

Twinkle, twinkle little star…

Christmas tree hunting

Don’t know how about you, guys, but I think Christmas tree hunting is just as exciting as Christmas tree decorating is! It’s some sort of ritual that helps us get in the holiday mood and it definitely can be fun and memorable especially when you share it with loved ones. That’s why the pictures I came across recently were just too cute to be ignored!

P.S. How does tree hunting look in your family? Do you all get involved?

Gift ideas: Darling Clementine

The holidays are just around the corner therefore it’s the perfect time to look for pretty paper goodies and get busy with sending Christmas cards (are you sending them this year, by the way?). I find handwritten cards ridiculously darling and timeless – better than any gift! And I fell for the goodies offered by Darling Clementine (I bet you know them, right?) – real heartmelters! They have cards, notebooks, trays, pillows and everything looks gorgeous! Take a look, you might get an idea or two :)

Happy weekend

It slipped my mind yesterday to welcome you to December (really? is 2011 almost done?). I still can’t believe it, but oh well – one thing is clear – the holiday season is here! Just like I say every year, this is my favorite time of the year and I look forward to setting up the tree, to be snowed in and to enjoy this magical time.

What are you looking forward to? Time with the family? Presents? Perhaps writing down resolutions for 2012?

Have a wonderful weekend, sweets!

Christmas mania

Or should I say Christmania? I have to confess, although last week I said why hurry to winter holidays, this week I’m quite hooked on everything Christmas related. This was always my weakness – baubles, glittery decoration, the tree, the presents – all this magic puts me on a very festive mode (which I’m in these days). I keep seeing how people decorate this year their Christmas tree and guess what, looks to me the main colors are pretty much the same like last year’s palette – mint, teal, silver (check my last year’s post here), although the glamorous golden doesn’t look bad either.

Here are some images from Emily Henderson‘s holiday guide (LOVE it, by the way!):

Fall al-fresco dining

With the cold days upon us the only thing I want to do is cuddle up under a blanket; going out is the last on that list (unless is not raining and the air is crispy). But lately I find myself daydreaming about dining al-fresco, surrounded by all the gorgeous fall colors and scents, by a fire with a dear group of people. Oh and some delicious food is involved in my daydreaming – the thought itself makes me hungry :).

By the way, this post is a great inspiration for a Thanksgiving table setting – what are you up to this year? Staying indoors or going al-fresco?
