Wordy Wallpaper

Some time ago, while shopping in a clothing store, I saw IT. A wallpaper with names of cities printed on it. I thought it was gorgeous, but unfortunately I didn’t have my magic camera to shot that view and I couldn’t find inspirational images on the Internet to share with you. Oh wait, I did find one and it looks the same cute and extraordinary!

*I forgot where did I find this image, if you know – please tell me. Thank you!

On this wallpaper there are printed a lot of sport activities, such as golf, football, polo and so on. It’s still wonderful, so perfect for a teenager-boy’s room!

Color+Inspiration: Blue

For this blog post I chose the bluest blue. Somebody calls it dark blue, others call it ‘blue moon’ – I say this is the ‘under the blue sky’ color. Just sounds cuter to me ;). This blue is perhaps dark (it is a bit) and it won’t work so good for a space which doesn’t have lots of light, but it will certainly look gorgeous in a room with big windows, where there is constantly sunlight! I guess the blue from these light rooms will really create the feeling of the sky in there and with some nice, cloudy wallpaper will make you float and feel you’re in the air. Just perfect for a nursery!!!

Decoylab Design Studio

Hi everyone! How are you today? I can’t wait for the weekend, so I’m happy we’re at Wednesday now. First thing I’m gonna blog about today is a shop and design studio I stumbled upon few weeks ago. The owner of Decoylab, Maiko Kuzunishi,  started her business by making decorative clocks from bamboo or paper, but now she has extended shop’s activity and she’s making posters, prints, pins etc. I love the clocks she’s making, they’re extremely sweet and they come in lots of colors, so great as you can choose the one you need. Decoylab Etsy shop and online portfolio made a perfect start of the day for me!

*Please note that most of the products are eco-friendly.

Life in polka dot

Polka dot is a really popular theme for a baby room or furniture. But, did you notice lately how polka dot is being used not only when related to kids?! And I admit that I get melted when seeing this. The look of a polka dot sofa is so innocent and cute, while showing off a challenge. I mean, come on, not everybody would dare to paint the bathroom floor in white and brown polka dots (see picture below). Whether I’m right or not, polka dots smell French (a bit) and it attracts  somebody’s eye, doesn’t it?

Color+Inspiration: Pink+Brown

Lately, I’m loving this combination more than any other. It has its charm and it just attracts me a lot! I would use the combo to paint my baby girl’s room and fill it with lots of little pink+brown details. Or maybe a living room. How would it be? Here are some images to get inspired of:

Glass painting+Wall art

I was always wondering myself why do very talented people prefer to keep their gorgeous works for themselves?! I know couple of them who are doing exactly this: one friend who’s building real ships on a smaller scale (see here), my MIL who is doing amazing hand embroidery just for pleasure (see here) and now one more great talented person, my SIL who’s enjoying a lot glass and wall painting! Just imagine this, handmade glass painting (!), how hard this should be? I want everybody to know about her incredible works, so here they are:

Color+Inspiration: Blue+Green

Isn’t amazing the harmony which is irradiated by blue+green? Let’s think, for example, of the combination blue sky – green grass, the couple that brings life and freshness to our days, especially post-winter ones :). The eternal feeling of new expectations and hopes always gets to our hearts once the green grass shows up and the sky gets rid of the winter clouds, becoming the purest image ever! I’m being too philosophic right now, so why don’t we just cherish the images  full of blue and green from this blog post ? Enjoy!

Hello Spring: Blossom

Oh yes I do love blossom, simply because of the meaning it has (for me) – nature is brought back to life! And the blossom is the right and perfect proof. These are 2 inseparable friends and they’re my favorites! So today I’m welcoming the spring with a deep hope to see ASAP trees in blossom – the best therapy for me!

Eames & Saarinen

These are two incredibly talented designers, American Charles Eames (1907–1978) and Finnish American Eero Saarinen (1910-1961), who designed the loved-by-everyone and the well-known Eames and tulip chairs. I simply adore both designs and I want them so, so badly! The tulip chair belongs to Eero Saarinen and it was designed in 1955 and 1956, while Eames, as working with his wife Ray, designed more than one chair and piece of furniture, in the period of 1939-1984 (the last item was produced after Charles Eames’s death). I bet you’ll love them! Just as much as I do! Here they are:

Owls as a lifestyle…

I’ve seen lots of owls recently in the blogosphere, so I guess I feel a trend in here :). I can’t understand how do I feel about owls, on one hand they’ve always been little scaring for me, their huge eyes and mysterious appearance only during nights were freaking me out in my childhood. But on the other hand, now when I see owls, they look kind of cute (I’m speaking about decorative owls, the real ones still freak me out). I tried so search for owls on the Internet and I was pleasantly surprised with what I’ve found. Take a look:
