Color+Inspiration: Chartreuse+Fuchsia

Hello, sweets! How are you? I’m dying to know what’s happening in your side of the world, things are busy with me and am feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything what’s happening in my life at the moment (all good!), but tell me more about you! I wanted to take the time and thank you all who voted for me in the October challenge on Design Refuge, I can feel all your support and this is making me so proud and honored to have such fabulous readers, thank you so much for everything!

Back to my post, last week, I’ve been scanning some old magazines I had and was amazed by how inspiring at the moment can be pages which you flipped through months ago! Seriously, I felt like I’m looking at the images with different eyes and it was so great to get fresh ideas from an old issue of a design mag! Case in point, I saw a picture where there was a living room decorated with chartreuse and fuchsia (screaming colors!) and touches of brown and white. I mean hello! I blogged about chartreuse and fuchsia, but in different posts and now I saw them together and it’s quite a stunning combo, if I say so myself!

Such a vibrant and bright color combination, isn’t it? As it happens many times, I never thought of putting these two together, but surprisingly they look gorgeous if used wisely (I do think that too much chartreuse and fuchsia wouldn’t look so good, but in small amounts, like accent details, the two colors are just perfection!)

What do you think?

You certainly can’t be sad in a room with colors like these. They’re not my style, but I admire the person who’s daring enough to design with them.

(PS. Just went over and voted for you — I’m a bit behind — but you’re in the lead!)

Yes, this is a HUGE trend in South Carolina…has been for a couple of years now. Very preppy.

PS: Lilly Pulitzer has a lot of products with this color combo. Do a Google search for “pink green lilly pulitzer” and it’s ridiculous how much is out there! :D

I think it works in the small amount in the third image, but I shudder to think what would happen to that first room if the curtains were ever drawn. The people in that room would look sickly and awful. Too much color in a dining room is a precarious proposition. All that fushcia is going to change the color of their food.

On a different note, is there a proper way to spell ‘fuschia’? I’ve never seen two people in one room who agree how to spell it.

I refinish furniture in color and so am always very interested in colorful rooms like this. I saved this page as your beautiful pics have inspired me to refinish my next project, a lovely chair, in these colors. Thx, Lauran @ChromaDecor
