Interior barn doors

When it comes to our homes we all try to bring in warmth and serenity, opting for calm colors, details which carry a valuable meaning and that close-to-our-heart atmosphere. Normally you’d think that in all this bliss barn doors have no place. May I say they do? Another trend with bigger and bigger impact is bringing outdoors inside. If you recall, that’s what happened with swing chairs and the other thing I could think of now are barn doors - wooden, worn off, whether perfectly painted in a glossy red or simply washed out white, you name it! One thing is clear, interior barn doors are firmly settling in as headboards, sliding doors or proper doors used as decor.

You know what comes next – do you love the idea or hate it? I mean I think I could live with some sliding door like the yellow one, what about you? Yay or nay?

I like the rustic vibe they bring in. Barn doors aren’t right for my decor, but I could certainly see them in a vacation house or maybe even in a super-modern space.

I adore barn doors, especially when they’re used in place of regular doors. I’ve yet to decided if I prefer them painted in a bright color or in a slightly worn down state. I’m going to say both!

Interior barn doors are terrific. I have a friend who has them in his basement (to cover up all the utility stuff and storage shelves). Take a look: http://ow.ly/3m5tC – it’s the second one. Beautiful, don’t you think?

I think barn doors bring a certain “warmth” to an indoor space that regular house doors don’t.
