So in one of my last posts I said I’ll be posting every day and I failed at that, but in my defense I can say that I had a reason – a fussy baby (enough said, right?). Anyway, today I’d like to add my two cents to the topic of Pantone choosing Emerald green as the color of 2013. I already expressed my affection for this color in previous posts having no clue that this color will have such a big impact on the design scene at some point – I guess I have foreseen a trend without even knowing it :). The richness of this shade is mesmerizing, showing a whole new level of green – a dense hue that screams refinement and elegance. I like how modern emerald green feels, definitely not the boring green one might expect :).
It’s no surprise I’m crazy about everything that is sparkly and holiday like, so I was delighted to see a huge collection of DIY glittery projects. For the home, for your Christmas party, even for your wardrobe – you’ll find everything your heart desires. The best of all, each project is linked to its how-to tutorial and we can all try our hands at making a sparkly banner or some cute Christmas tree decorations (yes, I’m all about holidays these days, don’t blame me!). So because I love you so much, I had to share my find with you!
Which project is your favorite?
Hello, sweet friends! Do you still remember me? It’s been too long since I last posted something so if you forgot how am I – I can totally understand you (I do hope you’ll come back though!). So I had a baby boy about two months ago and I took some time off to adjust to this new role (which is much harder than it seems, by the way!). All in all, we’re good – baby M is growing up way too fast and already looks like a little man who laughs, ‘speaks’ his own language and makes us happy day by day :).
So today I’m here sincerely hoping I’ll be able to get back to daily posting (or a few times per week at least) and since Christmas is right around the corner of course I had to share a few inspirational, relaxing and pretty pictures with you just to put you in the right mood!
I realize I’m becoming quite predictable already, but I can;t help myself – cozy and modern homes are my faves at the moment! Case in point, this ranch home that just oozes warmth and chicness! The home is filled with romantic, shabby chic accessories yet keeping an industrial and contemporary feel – this, my friends, needs some serious decorating talent and some boldness (jade/teal bedroom? totally sold!). Here are some pics:
It’s not common (and often) that we see pallets in interiors which is unclear to me because their look is so versatile and cool! I love about pallets the fact that they work so good in rustic settings as well as industrial, traditional or any other – a pallet just adds an unexpected touch to a room, in a good way – whether by giving an inviting rustic look or softening the rough industrial-ness of a space. While browsing for inspiration, I came across lots of pallet beds, but I did manage to find coffee tables, headboards and other stuff, which proves my idea – pallets can be used everywhere!
Have you guys heard about Jen Stark? She’s a contemporary artist whose paper cutting skills (for example, go see the wood work) are outstanding! I was left speechless when I saw the colors and the overall look of her kaleidoscopes! And yes, everything is handmade and unique which makes it even more beautiful! Take a look:
Hi everyone!!! How are you, guys? I hope you’re doing well and the work week isn’t too tough on you :). Yes, I disappeared and yes – I do dare to hope you’ll understand my reasons (14 days until my due date, my level of anxiety sky-high, making it hard to focus on anything!). I miss blogging though, so I promise to pull myself together and spend more time sharing inspiration with you, guys!
So today I’m here with a beautiful modern home decorated on a budget, because we know that when it’s about cost-effective decorating IKEA is the perfect source. And that’s what the home owner did, with some help from friends, plenty of DIYs, Tara Ballantyne managed to design a cozy, inviting home without splurging too much.
Hello, friends! Yet again I disappeared and I have no excuse. Well, maybe only the fact that I’m 36 weeks pregnant. Anyway, I hope you can understand me :).
Now that the summer is over, we’re left with the color palettes this amazingly refreshing seasons brings us. Like for example the breezy blues that make everything look airy, light and so easy-going. That’s exactly how this home is and I would move in in 2.5 seconds :)
Just as I was saying in this post, DIY has taken over me and I LOVE checking different projects that might add that personal touch to a home, you know what I mean? Let’s say I’m now going to share with you a driftwood photo display DIY that not only you can’t buy anywhere, but also if found for purchasing won’t feel as home-y as it feels when built with your own hands. And that’s why DIY is so special (now if only I had more time to do all the things I’m pinning). Here’s the final result and if you feel like interested in making it, check here the instructions.
Don’t know how about you, but I’m very into DIY lately. The easier the project the better, after all the final result is what matters, right :)? So since we’re at DIY today, I’d like to share with you two projects that are super cute and easy – exactly what the doctor prescribed! I found them via 91 magazine, so head over there for the instructions and all the details. P.S. New motto: crafty people are happy people :)
First is this adorable wooden bead light! For a bedroom or a reading nook this easy DIY project is definitely in the category ‘not-to-be-missed’.
Now look at this crafting nook (left) which would be a great addition to a little girl’s room! DIY this wall organizer (right) that is super-functional just for everyone and you’re sure to get all your ducks in a row :)
Are you a DIY person or not really? I never thought of myself as a crafts person, but my – how things change :)
