Summer house inspiration

Hi everyone! Are you ready for the weekend? I’m so looking forward to it, I can see a pool in my near future and lots and I mean LOTS of drinks to cool me down. So in honor of summer I thought I can bring up to your attention some inspiration for summer houses, where we can escape for a summer getaway to enjoy this time at its best. A girl can dream, right? How would my summer house be? So glad you asked! First it needs to be light in decorations, with bright colors here and there (just to keep the summer-y look in the home), with no clutter or sophistication! Mostly white color and breezy feeling is a must, freshly picked flowers from the garden is a huge bonus! A relaxed atmosphere which will make me forget about everything in this world is what I’d opt to have in my summer home.

What about you? How is your dream summer home?

Clara’s nursery

Clara is the most adorable baby girl who has the coolest parents, John & Sherry of Young house love. They welcomed their baby two months ago and oh my, Clara is one precious little girl (if you check her pictures, you’ll know what I mean)! And yesterday I stumbled upon Clara’s nursery and was completely smitten by the chicness of that room. That space is definitely far from being an average baby girl’s nursery, with lots of pink or so, instead it’s a room I wouldn’t mind moving in myself! A very modern and calming color palette of green & blue, a chandelier to die for, sunburst mirror and baskets for a better organizing – doesn’t this sound amazing? I’m so enamored with Clara’s nursery, I just knew I must share with you!

P.S. To see more pictures and the list of items used for decorating Clara’s nursery, check here.

Book review: Paris style

Well hello again, my lovelies. As promised before, a book review is what I have prepared for you now. Just in case you’re wondering, it’s not a new book, but an old, utterly inspiring one, filled with Paris atmosphere and French style and as you could guess it’s Paris style by Angelika Taschen. I found myself flipping through its pages today and couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by the beauty, sophistication and all the chicness I found in the book. Now don’t get me wrong, I had the book in my hands a while ago, but today was like a new wave of inspiration and emotions (I guess books are under ‘every time like the first time’ principle). So, if you’re in need of some French touches in your life or home then Paris style is the book you should stick to: romantic bedrooms, country kitchens and royal, all-golden living rooms – that is, my friends, a dream come true. And if before I said my dream home is a Scandinavian styled place, now I’m not so sure…

Urban Grace Interiors

I bet I won’t surprise anyone with this blog post. If you’re in blogland for some time, you were already introduced to the work of the designers behind Urban Grace Interiors. Erika McPherson Powell founded her interior design firm in 2005, welcoming, four years later, Allison Smith – working together on creating a better living for their clients. And as I always say, a talented designer is the one whose work fits perfectly the client’s needs, making a house to be a home and that’s  the feeling I had when checking Urban Grace Interiors’ portfolio – coziness, inviting atmosphere, warmth and a bit of a French country that reminds of the French castles. Classic style, with brown, beige & white domination – that’s all about Urban Grace Interiors. Check their entire portfolio here, as well as Erika’s inspiring blog, where you’ll find work in progress and happy clients :).

Glossy white

Hi everyone! How is your week so far? Yesterday was a sort of ‘interior design-free’ day on creamylife and I must say that I truly missed this, you know? I miss sharing with you beautiful interiors and speaking with you about styles, colors and well, interior design. So today I couldn’t wait to start the blogging day with a design trend – white glossy floors! I remember when I blogged about black glossy floors and although they’re still my crush, let’s face it – I’m not the person who lives on *that* edge and would hardly decide to go with black floors in my home (I certainly think they’re very chic and glamorous, so if you want to paint your floors in black – do it!). White floors are more practical as they will go together with plenty of different colors and styles, also they’ll make a room look lighter and larger which is important if we’re speaking about small spaces. And last, you all know my love for Scandinavian interiors and what describes better a Scandinavian style than a white glossy floor, with earthy colored furniture and decor?

Peaceful Scandinavian apartment

Scandinavian style is the one I’d go with in my home without looking back, it just feels so me. So when I saw this apartment I was amazed. And you might wonder why – at first the space isn’t something outstanding or extraordinary, but I felt how peaceful is that apartment. Somebody once said ‘comfort over style’ (the phrase is under copyright!) and this  apartment is the perfect proof as it may be less stylish than I’d like it to be, but it’s definitely comfy and warm and after all, what else do we need for a home?

Pattern love: Greek key

Hi everyone. You probably know that aside colors I have two more major, but REALLY major crushes: chairs & patterns, don’t you? Let’s talk about patterns right now as my affair with them is quite recent, but evolving pretty fast. Imperial Trellis is the pattern that  got me hooked and was the start of my pattern love. Today it’s all about Greek key and I must admit I’m obsessed with it for the last couple of days. I don’t think I need to talk much about Greek key, you all know it well and I’m pretty sure you love it, but I do need to say something myself about it: nobility, godlike and divine – all about Greek key! And it has something mysterious and attracting, more like any other pattern and that’s why I love it.

Personalize your walls

Throughout a life time things change. We change, changes our style and interest, but one thing is what stays with us forever and these are memories which we try to keep alive as long as we live. To help ourselves in this, we take pictures, print and frame them, to hang them on the wall afterward and smile whenever we look at them. And this is great, but I got myself thinking that there are too many framed pictures in our lives, so it’s maybe time to bring a breathe of fresh air, don’t you think so? Maybe think of some other ways to personalize our homes?..Bingo! I did the ‘finding another ways’ for  you, just because I love my sweet readers :). I should mention that I was inspired to write this post by the youngsters of Young house love as they shared their ways of transforming their memories in wall art.

So, here are the ideas of personalizing our homes:

Color+Inspiration: Yellow+Gray

Hey everyone! I must admit that I’ve been having my eyes on the beautiful color combination yellow & gray for quite a long time and still, never put together a color inspiration post featuring this combo. Small intro: Anna of In honor of design asked our opinion about a new header for her blog (we needed to choose one of three designs), the first design was created with yellow & gray colors and I was smitten by the simplicity and elegance of it! The muted shades of both these colors are such a well balanced mix, perfectly completing each other and creating the feeling of aesthetic charm and sense of style. Of course I voted for the first design Anna had to choose from, but I couldn’t stop thinking about this combination. So yesterday I browsed all the possible sites on the Internet and I found some gorgeous rooms (and not only) decorated with yellow & gray:
