Jaime Hayón Design Studio

Maybe some of you saw I posted everywhere that Jaime Hayón is coming at the end of May to attend Belgrade Design Week. So exciting, isn’t it? The great Jaime, young, but so talented designer! I couldn’t hear better news. So today I thought I should introduce him and his creations. And if you want to know my opinion about him, I think he’s the kind of designer who creates for people, not for the title ‘Mr. Extravagance’ and his designs are destined to bring use in one’s home, I really appreciate that! And you know why? Because the designer, who makes a chair impossible to sit on,will never be a favorite of mine! Unlike somebody who will make the same chair be comfy :).

Color+Inspiration: Beige

Who ever thought of beige being a neutral color? Lots of you did! Wrong! Think again! Or visit the blog of  Vancouver color consultant Maria Killam and convince yourself of the opposite! I did think that beige is the most neutral color from all and I could easily combine it with every color that crosses my mind ever! But then I was lucky to be introduced to the great Maria Killam and her blog, Colour me Happy, and read lots of useful stuff about colors, particularly about beige. One thing I learned about it is that it is very (!) tricky and there are plenty of colors that just go wrong along with beige! While trying to recover from the shock I had, I found out about the 3 main undertones of beige: yellow, pink and green, which are the well-known beige, but way too different! Here are the examples:

Marjon Hoogervorst Photography

Hello, my friends! Sorry for being so absent today, I’ll try to make it up to you now! You know I love talented photographers, right? Oh well, who doesn’t? I blogged about them a lot of times, but I never tire of them! So, I’m bringing now to your attention another great lady, photographer, all the way from the Netherlands! Marjon Hoogervorst is a very open-minded person, with a great eye and sense of taste, which I think is more than enough for a good shooter, isn’t it? She has her own style, it seems to me she’s very much into modern country style, at least that’s what I could see in the pictures taken by her. Alright, I guess I’ll let you decide by yourself what is Marjon’s style and don’t forget to let me know what do you think about her!

Danish Bungalow

Bungalow is a shop in Denmark owned by a very sweet lady who’s obsessed with florals, paisley and all Indian patterns. While traveling a lot to India and South Asia, Minna couldn’t help herself but fall in love with all the craftiness and the very inspiring people she met there. So in 2004 she decided to start her own business and now, after 6 years, she has a pretty famous bungalow, she’s been featured in magazines and I guess she made her dream come true! Worth admiration, isn’t it? Be sure you fall in love with the products from the Bungalow, they’re too cute!

Color+Inspiration: Blue

For this blog post I chose the bluest blue. Somebody calls it dark blue, others call it ‘blue moon’ – I say this is the ‘under the blue sky’ color. Just sounds cuter to me ;). This blue is perhaps dark (it is a bit) and it won’t work so good for a space which doesn’t have lots of light, but it will certainly look gorgeous in a room with big windows, where there is constantly sunlight! I guess the blue from these light rooms will really create the feeling of the sky in there and with some nice, cloudy wallpaper will make you float and feel you’re in the air. Just perfect for a nursery!!!

Sunburst Mirrors

Good morning, my dears! How was your weekend? A new week ahead (happy Monday, by the way) and I have a new crush. It’s not that new, but I didn’t write about it yet. When blogging about Tobi Fairley, I saw a picture from her portfolio with sunburst mirrors on the wall and that was the moment my heart hurt! And I wanted to see more of these images, so here I am now, with inspirational pictures of different types of sun mirrors. And maybe it’s only my imagination, but I find the sunburst mirror so similar to Helios, the God of the sun from Greek mythology, what do you think? Oh yes, and I actually LOVE this mirror, it adds to any room such a goddish (not royal) feeling!

Tobi Fairley Interior Design

I was so honored to meet Tobi Fairley on Facebook and get introduced to her fabulous design portfolio. And now I can say loudly that Tobi might be the most talented designer ever! I mean her portfolio is absolutely perfect to me, the way she’s using colors and patterns, so much to learn from her!!! The moment I felt admiration for Tobi was when researching for my yesterday’s post about emerald green, as an inspiring picture I found one from Tobi’s portfolio and then I fell in love with her and her designs. Words can’t tell you how big is my respect for Tobi Fairley, she studied accounting, she has a degree from Sam M. Walton College of Business and also in interior design and she was called one of the Top 20 Young Designers in America for 2009 by Traditional Home magazine! Wow, that’s a nice biography, isn’t it? I can just thank Tobi for creating all the designs, sharing them with us and being a great source of inspiration!

Bedside House

This picture was all over the Internet today and I thought why not to share it with CreamyLife readers? What you see below it’s a bedside cabinet, but how sweet is that? Please notice the roof – it’s made of a book! This cabinet can be a pretty easy DIY project, but such a cute detail to a room!
