Hello, dears! For this Monday’s inspiration I chose to feature a super-talented interior stylist and photographer who travels (and lives) back and forth between Sydney, Paris and Amsterdam – Pia Jane Bijkerk! Her blog was a source of inspiration to me for a long time as her photography is beyond gorgeous and her style is what can be called rustic-meets-vintage-meets-French-meets-all-things-beautiful! Her work appeared in famous shelter magazines such as Elle Interior, Vogue Living, Home Beautiful, Traditional home and others. Recently Pia launched her professional website and I couldn’t help but blog about it. If you seek for a dose of prettiness to put you in a creative mood for this week, then enjoy this post!
Neutral Brightness
This home tour I came across yesterday is my dream come true (well, at least that’s how I feel now). Although we all know I adore colors, when it comes to my home, I prefer it to be calming, laid-back and comfy, so neutral colors are way more appropriate than splashes of bright shades. I liked how the home has vintage touches with a modern, stylish flair. Oh and there were some colors in the home, seen in wall art or cushions – just the perfect pops of a subtly cheerful color palette!
Velvet and navy
Velvet always feels royal, so if you pair it with this gorgeous, rich hue – navy – you’re sure to get an outstanding effect! Normally I don’t like velvet so much, but there were some pictures I saw a while back which blew me away and I was daydreaming about velvet and navy ever since.
Give me sunshine
Well hello, friends! How’s the weather where you are? Here is far from what I was expecting (or want it to be): rain, snow, very cold and everything that complements such a weather. That’s why I want only one thing right now – SUN! I’m very exhausted of such a “playful” winter, I’m more than sure we had enough of it this year. So this post is in sun’s honor (am starting to think I’m getting crazy). Hope you have sun in your life!
P.S. The title is inspired by this (to die for!) poster.
Cath Kidston’s colorful collection
It’s Friday, loves! Can we get a huge YAY? How have you been? I know I have neglected you all and that makes me feel terribly bad, I promise! If only the day would have more hours, so I can manage to do everything. As long as this isn’t possible will need to deal with what I have: lots of work, not much time for chatting with you and blogging. Oh boy, saying it this way makes me SO sad :(. I’d really love to spend more time online. Ok, so to make things brighter, let me show you Cath Kidston‘s colorful collection of houseware which is absolutely adorable! Everything looks very modern, some items are very shabby chic which made me love them even more. Cath Kidston is based in London, running her pretty shop ever since 1993! Take a look:
Leopard stairs
Because everybody needs some leopard in his/her life. I know I blogged about leopard print a while back, but seeing it in stairs takes it to a whole new level. Quite the unexpected detail, just the perfect bit of extravaganza a home might need. Not vulgar, but VERY glamorous and chic. Would you dare to use leopard print that way? Let’s discuss the trend.
Anna Leena’s Home
Hi everyone. Today I’d like to introduce you to a Scandinavian photographer and blogger who’ll keep you breathless the time you check the blog. Wanna know who is it? It’s Anna Leena, author behind Anna Leena’s home. Needless to remind you how enamored I am with Scandinavian style, so Anna Leena’s blog is a real treasure that I highly recommend checking! Her pictures are incredibly inspiring and her home looks absolutely fabulous! If you’d like to see home tours, hop on her blog. Here are a few photos to give you an idea of the gorgeousness you’ll find on Anna Leena’s blog.
Caramel, stripes, industrial, modern
I know that the title might be a bit confusing, but you’ll understand what I meant. Seems to me that industrial oriented designs will never fade, there’ll always be someone who’ll dig metal coffee tables and lamps, worn off storage drawers and things like this which are absolutely charming, in my opinion. Even more when you go with vintage thrifted furniture and accessories – that’s a bomb of a combination. However, I’m thinking that perhaps a few feminine details won’t hurt? Something like a caramel sofa or a cozy blanket. Well, the possibilities are unlimited and it’s just up to you how to decorate your home. Here’s a picture which inspired me to no end! I bet you’ll understand why :)
Bohemian Charm
Today I found myself dreaming about bold colors, florals and geometric patterns. On a dreary day like today that can be the only thing to save me, you know? I’m really looking forward to spring and summer, when I’ll finally be able to pull out all my colorful dresses and colorful accessories. Ah dreams! But we’re almost there, so hold on a little more, that is if you’re like me. These pictures where fashion inspires interior design (or vice-versa, why not) are the perfect image of how I would like my life to be, at least for one day. Bohemian and charming – when freedom is all you have and the sky is your limit :).
Color+Inspiration: Pink+Orange
Perhaps it’s the anticipation of spring or Valentine’s day which happens to be today (see my post dedicated to it here), but I’m really attracted by bold, bright and so passionate hues such as orange and pink, particularly about this combo. The vibrant color combination shouts modern and daring and while I thik it might be too much for a living room, it certainly looks amazing in a girl’s room, kitchen or seen in smaller details such as rugs, bedding, curtains so on. Oh not to mention that pink+orange left its marks in fashion too! Various designers have their spring/summer collections around this combo and it totally looks chic!
