Guest Post: Rugs

Another guest post here on CreamyLife by the wonderful co-author of my blog (yeah, I can say that!) – Nastya! She also is the author of the first guest post, in case you missed it you can read it here. Today the very creative Nastya is inspired by rugs. Let’s take a look at what she says:

“Hello everyone!

It took time for me to reappear, but I’m extremely happy to share something that’s on my mind with you, dear Ludmila and Creamy Life readers! Lately there’s so much on the Internet about the rugs, especially those modern ones. As for me, I love rugs and consider them to be an important part of any interior. I just don’t imagine an apartment or a house without any rugs! It makes every room nicer and cozier, not to mention the fact that they provide warmth on a bare floor and help to reduce noise. So here are some of my favorite examples:

Fireplace Inspiration

This is another must-have in my future home – fireplace. I definitely knew that fireplaces are modern and country, chic and cozy, but I didn’t think that the variety is that huge and that a modern fireplace can be so so fancy! I’m totally not up-to-date with fireplace design and my research now left me speechless. And no, modern fireplaces will not work for my future home, I prefer those country styled or even classic ones, that will provide warmth and fire (just how it’s meant to be!). And if you’re like me, take a deep breath and please take a look at what I’ve found.

Let’s have them categorized:

I’ll start this amazing day (I hope) by introducing to all of you a wonderful photographer I spotted on Decor8 (soon-to-be my inspirational bible, ha!). Tara Donne is a great lady who actually doesn’t need any introduction. She worked for Domino, Real Simple and Martha Stewart and all said with this! Tara is shooting thing she likes, without any preferences or limits, so you can understand now that her portfolio is about people, food, places and of course interior (my favorite part). Color+Inspiration: Red+White

Not much to say about the combination of red and white colors. The passion and light emanated by this combo speaks all by itself! And before red+white rooms seemed to me very fancy and luxurious and they really are, but guess what, I did find cute yet chic pictures of country spaces decorated with white and popping red accessories here and there! I like this idea more rather than painting the living room in red, for example :). That it’d be visually too exhausting. What’s your opinion about white and red? How do you think people should use this combo in their homes?

Bring florals into your home

Hello everyone! Spring has finally settled down here, trees and flowers are blooming, so no surprise I’m in the flower-ish mood again! As I said, these days I see flowers everywhere, but this fact didn’t stop me to think how to bring and incorporate the floral pattern into a home. It’s definitely better and nicer to have fresh arrangements just in every corner of your home, but hey! more flowers – more romantic the atmosphere! And I always say that there are never too many flowers in a home, whether fresh or faux. So, I was ransacking today and found couple beautiful ways how to bring the florals in your space:

Wall decals – a modern way of decorating your home with flowers, without overwhelming it:

Home Tour: The Battery Home

Really, no joke! The Battery home is a beach house in Seasalter, which is a village on North Kent coast in UK. A BEACH HOUSE! I must confess seeing this home on Beach Bungalow8 made my day, it was always my dream to live on the beach or at least have a house on the beach and spend all my free time there. And the battery home might be the perfect image of that. Just imagine the view – you open the window and you see the ocean or a sea just so close to you! Totally relaxing feeling yet very inspiring! Some people say that for them looking at the fire, listening to the rain and so on are the best therapies, well for me seeing the infinity of the ocean makes me drown in and just forget about everything – only me and my creative mind!

Seriously, I didn’t exaggerate at all! The way he’s shooting the spaces with all the colors and accessories is stunning! You know, it’s not just  enough to shoot an image, important is to show, through the picture, all the charm and the warmth of a room. At least, that’s how I think it should be. And Mark Lund‘s photography makes me want to move right away in those rooms or just spend a few minutes in each space! However, please join me in viewing the amazing work of a very inspiring artist!

Color+Inspiration: Green+Orange

Good morning, lovelies! I’m an early bird today so let’s get to blogging immediately :). The color mix green+orange was suggested to me by my husband! That’s right, yesterday he decided to help a little by telling me some of his favorite combos. Green & orange seemed at first sort of weird – in my vision these colors just didn’t work good together. But then I researched a little, meditated and analyzed and agreed with him! I must admit that green, being a calming color and orange – an energizing one, make a great room balance, borrowing from each other softness and freshness. I even understood the tendency of painting a child’s room in green & orange – calm yet energized, and this sounds just perfect for a kid with healthy lifestyle! And it really isn’t important is it a bright green, lime or apple green – it all works just fine!
